In Germany alone, 80 per cent of all financial documents are read automatically by Open Text Document Technologies character recognition software.

Census forms

The ‘Year 2000 Decennial Census’ conducted by the US Department of Commerce was the world’s largest document imaging project of the last five years. Our local partner utilised several hundred licences of the character recognition software RecoStar for this project. The same product has also been used for numerous other census applications in countries all over the world. All relevant information is read quickly and accurately from the forms and submitted on time to the government institutions in question.

Tax forms

Internal revenue services in several German states are processing value-added tax documents and income tax reports with RecoStar. As there are a large number of different form layouts, font sets and form sizes, this is a great challenge for our recognition software. Forms are either single page or double page, single sided or double sided. The forms’ vivid grey background pattern is a particularly challenging part of the recognition process.

Social security forms

The Polish Social Security Administration (ZUS) in Warsaw processes up to 1.6 million social security forms with RecoStar every day.

Forms and Reports

Processing centres for pharmacies handle their large volume of prescription forms quickly and accurately with Open Text Document Technologies recognition software. Health insurers and accident prevention associations take advantage of the economics of automatic data entry with RecoStar. Open Text Document Technologies is the leading supplier to dental health care providers as well as the AOK, Germany ’s biggest public health insurance provider.

Attendance listings

Within one year, RecoStar was installed at 40 English colleges together with a document entry system for processing attendance listings.

International departure and arrival forms

In Singapore , RecoStar is used to verify international departure and arrival forms.
