Open Text Document Technologies System for AOK Bavaria

Constance, September 1997. AOK Bavaria orders 23 turn-key systems for health care application from Open Text Document Technologies. The system consists of the Scanner Image Input 5030, BUSY under Windows NT V4.0, RecoStar as well as the complete software package for the health care application.

In November 1997 the first systems are delivered and installed in 21 regional offices. We were able to secure the contract because of two unique product features of the Scanner Image Input 5030: Double feed control for secure document separation and the build-in paginator for marking of scanned documents. AOK Bavaria is the sixth large-volume contract with AOK after Baden-Wurttemberg, Brandenburg, Lower-Saxony, Rhineland and Braunschweig.

AOK Saxony processes 380 000 documents per month

AOK Saxony handles its various documents with 3 automatic scanner/ recognition systems from Open Text Document Technologies. Starting in August of this year 380 000 documents/month will be automatically scanned, interpreted, archived and processed with more than 200 local offices. Open Text Document Technologies is now the preferred supplier of such systems to AOK organizations.

AOK Saxony handles its document volume in 3 data entry centers, each equipped with one system from Open Text Document Technologies. Each system consists of a colour scanner ScanStar, our character recognition software RecoStar, our document management software BUSY and the health care application package. Competent in health care applications: processing centers of pharmacies handle their volume of prescriptions efficiently and safely with systems from Open Text Document Technologies. Private and government operated health care providers take advantage of the additional cost savings by automated document processing. We are the leading supplier for AOK organizations.
